Phuket Island, known as the Pearl of the Andaman, is located 867 kms. South from Bangkok. It is the only island having provincial status and has a rich and colourful history.
Phuket's weather conditions are influenced by monsoon winds that blow year round. It is therefore always warm and pleasant. There are two distinct seasons, the monsoon season and the dry season. The monsoon season begins in May and lasts until October, during which the monsoon blows from the southwest. Some rain showers are common during this time. The dry season is from November through April, when the monsoon comes from the northeast. Highest average temperatures. (of 33.4 degree Celsius) prevail during March. Lowest average temperatures occur in January, when nightly lows dip to 22 degree Celsius.
The best time to visit Phuket is between November and March. However, even the rest of the year you will find plenty of sunshine to return home with a healthty tan. |
